Tourism Boost
The couple applauded government efforts to streamline visas and promote the country as an accessible international destination.
Pedalling across continents, David Sieber and Natasha Heller arrived in Pakistan on bicycles, driven by determination and a thirst for discovery. Their journey began in Switzerland and evolved into a remarkable love affair with Pakistan’s landscapes, culture, and people.
In an exclusive interview, the couple described Pakistan as “a dream come true.” They admired the country’s breathtaking scenery, diverse traditions, and unmatched hospitality.
David and Natasha deliberately chose bicycles to travel slowly and experience authentic connections. They cycled through winding roads, valleys, and rugged terrains, often stopping to meet locals.
“Cycling through Pakistan feels like living in a dream,” Natasha said with a smile. “The scale here is extraordinary.”
The couple shared how villagers guided them through tough routes and even repaired their bicycles. “Hospitality here comes from the heart,” Natasha noted. David added, “We were constantly invited into homes and treated like family.”
They praised Pakistan’s simplified visa process, which they said encourages more tourists to visit. “Quick approvals make a big difference,” David observed. “Accessibility is key in global tourism.”
The travellers also enjoyed Pakistan’s diverse cuisine. Natasha highlighted regional flavours, from Lahore’s street food to Hunza’s traditional meals. David said food in Pakistan represents culture and warmth, with families insisting they share meals.
Addressing safety, they acknowledged police escorts in certain areas but stressed they always felt welcome. Natasha added, “Perceptions abroad are wrong. We only experienced kindness and care.”
David compared Pakistan’s mountain ranges to Switzerland’s. “If our Alps are a smile, Pakistan’s mountains are an entire universe,” he said. Natasha admired their raw, untouched beauty.
For David and Natasha, Pakistan became not just a destination but an unforgettable chapter in their journey across continents.
