Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is eagerly anticipating the upcoming Test series between Australia and Pakistan, set to commence on December 14 in Perth.

Expressing his insights into the series, Afridi emphasized the crucial role that star pacer Shaheen Afridi is expected to play. According to Cricket Australia, Afridi stated, “Shaheen Afridi’s bowling spells will be extremely important in Australia. He possesses the skills to trouble any batter in the world. Bowling in Australian conditions will be a good learning experience for him, and I believe he will play a crucial role in the series.”

Acknowledging the formidable challenge posed by Australia on their home turf, Afridi remarked, “Aussies are traditionally strong, both mentally and physically. They are a very formidable side in their own conditions, and facing them is always a challenge.” He added, “They have a very strong batting order, and I expect a good contest during the Benaud Qadir Trophy. The series will undoubtedly be a test of skills and resilience.”

Currently engaged in a four-day game against the Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra, Pakistan is gearing up for the three-match Test series against Australia.

The series schedule is as follows:

  • First Test: December 14-18, Perth
  • Second Test: December 26-30, Melbourne
  • Third Test: January 3-7, Sydney
