Ronaldo becomes the first player to score in 5 different World Cups

As the first player to ever score in 5 different World Cup games, Cristiano Ronaldo added another feather to his already ornate cap. The former Manchester United player achieved this milestone on Thursday during their Group H match against Ghana, when he successfully converted a penalty in the 65th minute.

In the first half, which ended without a goal despite Portugal dominating Ghana, Ronaldo had the ball in the net and missed two clear chances.

The 37-year-old captain of Portugal might have had two goals inside the first 15 minutes, but he squandered both chances. In the 31st minute, after the referee had blown his whistle for an infringement against him, he scored from close range.

The Portuguese captain must feel relieved, as he was in the proverbial “eye of the storm” following his departure from Manchester United.

Ronaldo had left Manchester United, the club announced in a statement.

According to a mutual agreement, Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Manchester United with immediate effect.

The team wishes him and his family the best of luck in the future and expresses gratitude for his enormous contribution during his two stints at Old Trafford, where he scored 145 goals in 346 games.

Everyone at Manchester United is still committed to advancing the group’s success under Erik ten Hag and collaborating to produce results on the field.
