Real Madrid secured their first win of the La Liga season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Real Valladolid on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The match showcased goals from Fede Valverde, Brahim Diaz, and debutant Endrick, though star signing Kylian Mbappe did not find the back of the net on his home debut.
Valverde broke the deadlock in the 50th minute with a deflected free-kick, ending a goalless first half. The team, which had struggled to create opportunities before the break, displayed increased urgency in the second half.
Brahim Diaz extended the lead with a skillful lob in the 88th minute, and Endrick sealed the win with a precise finish during stoppage time.
Despite dominating possession, Real Madrid’s attack lacked sharpness in the first half, with Aurelien Tchouameni’s long-range shot being the only notable effort until Valverde’s goal.
Mbappe, who joined Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, had a few chances to mark his debut with a goal but was thwarted by Valladolid’s Estonian goalkeeper, Karl Hein, and missed another opportunity wide.
Mbappe, still searching for his first La Liga goal, has yet to score in his first two league appearances. Coach Carlo Ancelotti remains optimistic about Mbappe’s impact, praising his movement and potential.
“He’s a spectacular forward who will score goals, whether he plays centrally or from the left,” Ancelotti stated.
Endrick’s debut goal was a promising start for the young Brazilian, who demonstrated his potential with a decisive finish. Ancelotti highlighted Endrick’s ability, saying, “He’s very dangerous in small spaces and showed his quality with his goal.”
