Pakistani Youth Teams Qualify for Norway Cup Semi-Finals

Pakistani Youth Teams

KARACHI: Continuing their remarkable journey in the Norway Cup 2024, the Pakistani youth teams have made a significant impact, with both the U15 and U17 sides advancing to the semi-finals of their respective tournaments.

The U15 team, representing Better Future Pakistan, and the U17 squad from Muslim Hands FC, have showcased exceptional talent and determination, earning their spots in the semi-finals.

In a thrilling quarter-final match, the Pakistan Street Child Football Team emerged victorious with a narrow 3-2 win against Germany’s JSG Leintal.

The game was marked by a dramatic finish as Pakistan secured the win with a last-minute goal. Mohammad Kashif played a pivotal role by scoring twice, while Mohammad Junaid added another goal, leading to jubilant celebrations among the Pakistani community in Norway.

The U17 team is set to face Norway’s Forde IL in the first semi-final later today. Their impressive performance thus far has earned them a well-deserved place in the final stages of the competition.

Meanwhile, the U15 team, known as Better Future Pakistan, delivered a commanding performance in their quarter-final match, defeating Norway’s Forde IL 3-0.

Subhan Karim was the standout player, scoring twice, and Shahbaz Ali also contributed with a goal, propelling the team into the semi-finals. They are scheduled to compete against Norway’s Varegg Fotball 1 later today.

The success of these teams is a continuation of the strong performance demonstrated by Pakistani youth in last year’s Norway Cup.

In 2023, the Muslim Hands FC U17 team reached the final but narrowly lost on penalties (10-9) to Sola FK.

Despite the loss, their performance throughout the tournament was exceptional, as they went undefeated and scored 28 goals while conceding only three.

Their impressive goal-scoring ability and defensive prowess highlighted their capacity not only to win matches but to do so with substantial margins.

The ongoing success of the Pakistani youth teams in Norway Cup 2024 underscores their growing prowess on the international stage, as they continue to make their mark with skillful play and determination.
