Jay Shah declared prize of 1.2 billion Indian rupees for Indian cricket team

Following their victory in the ICCT20 World Cup, the Indian Cricket Board has announced substantial prize money for the Indian team, celebrating their triumph in Barbados. The Indian cricket team secured their second title in the shortest format by defeating South Africa in the final.

In a closely contested match, South Africa, chasing a target of 177 runs, fell short at 169 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, resulting in a 7-run victory for India.

Shortly after clinching the championship, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the prize details. Jay Shah, chairman of the board, disclosed on social media platform X that the Indian team would receive a prize of 125 crore Indian rupees, equivalent to approximately 4 billion Pakistani rupees.

Shah extended heartfelt congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff, commending their exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament. The announcement from BCCI underscores the significant recognition and reward bestowed upon the team for their outstanding performance in the ICCT20 World Cup.
