After the post-Olympics excitement, social media has been abuzz with speculation about a potential romantic relationship between India’s javelin star Neeraj Chopra and top pistol shooter Manu Bhaker.
The rumors began swirling after the two were seen interacting warmly at a gathering following the Paris 2024 Olympics, where they were also spotted with Manu’s mother.
However, both families have quickly put these rumors to rest. Manu’s father, Ram Kishan, clarified that his daughter is too young for marriage and that the speculation is baseless. “Manu is still very young. She is not even of marriageable age. We’re not even thinking about that right now,” Ram Kishan told Dainik Bhaskar, quashing the growing chatter about a possible relationship between the two athletes.
Ram Kishan also emphasized the close, yet purely familial, bond between Manu’s mother and Neeraj, explaining that she views the javelin star as a son, which accounts for their friendly interaction. “Manu’s mother considers Neeraj like her son,” he explained, highlighting the strong but entirely platonic relationship between the two families.
Neeraj Chopra’s uncle also addressed the rumors regarding Neeraj’s personal life, assuring that any major news, including marriage plans, would be shared publicly at the appropriate time. “Just as everyone knew when Neeraj won the medal, they will also know when he decides to marry,” he stated.
Both Neeraj and Manu had a successful but challenging experience at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Manu won two bronze medals in her shooting events, while Neeraj secured a silver medal in the javelin throw, building on his historic gold from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Despite their achievements, both athletes remain focused on their careers, with marriage not currently on their agendas.
For now, the athletes are enjoying the accolades from their Olympic successes, with their families assuring fans that any future developments in their personal lives will be communicated openly and clearly.
