PCB Officials Assure ICC That Stadium Upgrades Are on Track. During an ICC meeting attended by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, PCB officials confirmed to board members that the upgrades for stadiums set to host the Champions Trophy 2025 are progressing as planned. They assured that all remaining work will be completed within the specified timeframe.
Naqvi also extended an invitation to ICC board members to visit Pakistan and assess the preparations for the upcoming tournament, which is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
While the event promises excitement, there are challenges, including uncertainty regarding the participation of the Indian cricket team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently seeking approval from the Indian government for their team to travel to Pakistan for the tournament.
To address concerns, the PCB previously suggested that the Indian team could return home after each match to minimize their stay in Pakistan during the Champions Trophy. It’s worth noting that India and Pakistan have not faced each other in a bilateral series since 2012-13, and the last time the Indian team visited Pakistan was in 2008.
