The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a budget of nearly $70 million for the 2025 Champions Trophy, set to take place in Pakistan from February to March 2025.
The ICC has shared the complete schedule with the participating teams’ boards and broadcasters. This schedule includes details for the support period, match fixtures, warm-up matches, and other related activities. The final details will be confirmed after consultations with all the boards.
If approved, the opening ceremony will likely be held in Karachi, with the closing ceremony scheduled for Lahore.
The approved budget of approximately USD 70 million will cover all expenses during the support period, which runs from February 12 to 18. The tournament matches will be played from February 19 to March 9, with March 10 reserved for the final if necessary.
The support period will feature warm-up matches, media activities, and promotional events, all planned in collaboration between the ICC and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Each team will be allowed to play up to two warm-up matches, to be held in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.
The PCB is preparing to host the eight teams across three venues: Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, with all of India’s matches planned for Lahore. The PCB has allocated Rs12.80 billion for upgrading the stadiums, including Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena, and Rawalpindi’s International Cricket Stadium.
The 2025 Champions Trophy will mark the event’s return after an eight-year hiatus, with the last tournament held in 2017, where Pakistan won the final against India.
