Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim to Remain with CPL; Fakhar Zaman to Depart for Champions One-Day Cup
Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman will leave the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) to participate in the Champions One-Day Cup, which begins on September 12 at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. Sources confirmed on Saturday that Zaman will return to Pakistan ahead of the domestic tournament, which features five teams. During his stint with the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the CPL, Zaman scored 83 runs across two matches.
In contrast, Pakistan cricketer Azam Khan is expected to stay with the CPL for the remainder of the tournament, as he is unlikely to join any team in the Champions One-Day Cup.
Additionally, Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim will remain available for all CPL matches, given their retirement from One-Day Internationals.
Meanwhile, Saim Ayub, who scored a fifty against Bangladesh in the second Test’s first innings, had already missed the CPL due to his commitment to the red-ball format with Pakistan.
