Rawalpindi Test Match
To boost attendance and create a more inclusive atmosphere for cricket fans, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that entry to the remaining two days (the fourth and fifth days) of the first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will be free.
This initiative is part of the PCB’s efforts to encourage families, students, and cricket enthusiasts to come out and support the teams in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2023-25.
Spectators wishing to attend the match can gain access to the stadium without charge by presenting their original CNIC or B-form. The stadium offers a range of seating options to accommodate different preferences.
Families can enjoy the match from the VIP enclosures named after cricket legends Imran Khan and Javed Miandad, which are specifically reserved for them.
Additionally, fans can also choose to watch the game from the premium enclosures named Miran Baksh, Shoaib Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir, and Yasir Arafat.
It is important to note that this free entry offer does not extend to areas where tickets have already been purchased, such as the PCB Gallery or Platinum Box.
Fans who have bought tickets for the fourth and fifth days will be eligible for a full refund. Those who made online purchases will see their refunds processed automatically to the credit or debit card used at the time of purchase.
For tickets bought at Express Centres, ticket holders are advised to bring their original tickets to the centre to receive their refund.
In addition to the free entry, the PCB is enhancing accessibility to the stadium by continuing its free shuttle bus service on matchdays.
The service operates on two routes: Route 1 runs from Aviation Ground, Rawal Road, Murree Road to the Allama Iqbal Park Entrance Gate, while Route 2 travels from Government Satellite Town College for Boys, 6th Road, Murree Road to the same entrance gate.
This shuttle service aims to facilitate the transportation of fans, ensuring that they can easily reach the stadium and enjoy the match.
This move by the PCB is expected to significantly increase the number of spectators at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, fostering a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere for the concluding days of the Test match.
By removing the cost barrier and improving accessibility, the PCB hopes to create a memorable experience for cricket fans and boost support for the teams competing in the World Test Championship.
