The Sindh government and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori have announced rewards of Rs50 million and Rs2 million, respectively, for Pakistani javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem, who won the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, speaking to the media, praised Nadeem’s exceptional performance and congratulated him along with the entire nation for securing Pakistan’s gold medal.
Murtaza Wahab highlighted that Arshad Nadeem not only achieved the top position in the javelin throw event but also recorded the second-best throw. He lauded Nadeem for his outstanding achievement.
Wahab also announced plans to establish a sports academy in Karachi named after Arshad Nadeem, emphasizing that the Sindh government takes great pride in this remarkable accomplishment, as Nadeem has brought honor to the country and its people.
Governor Tessori also extended his congratulations to Nadeem for his historic victory in the men’s javelin throw at the Paris Olympics, stating that Nadeem’s gold medal win has realized the dreams of the entire nation.
He noted that Arshad Nadeem set a new record with his 92.97-meter throw, surpassing a 118-year-old Olympic record, and provided spectators with a spectacular display of skill.
Additionally, Tessori announced that Arshad Nadeem would be gifted an iPad and an iPhone, and a special reception would be hosted in his honor at the Governor’s House.
