According to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Skardu will become a world winter sports destination in the next years
The premier made the statements while posting a beautiful picture of Gilgit- Baltistan’s city and another picture of girls playing ice hockey there at night on his official Twitter account.
In the caption, he said, “Skardu at night & our girls playing ice hockey in GB.” He added, “Now that Skardu has an international airport, this location will, inshaAllah, become a world winter sports destination.”
Last month, while addressing a gathering in the city, Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that with enhanced road connectivity and the Skardu International Airport, Gilgit-Baltistan will become a major tourist destination, ensuring the region’s economic growth.
