ISLAMABAD: Singapore’s home services app, Helpp, secured $1.1 million in its inaugural investment round.
Functioning as a for-profit social impact venture, Helpp specializes in on-demand services encompassing Salon, Laundry, Painting, and Air Conditioning segments in Pakistan’s major cities, Karachi and Lahore.
Additionally, the company operates a Business vertical catering to large chains and SMEs. The company announced this development on Friday, according to the Mettis Global.
Commencing operations in 2021, Helpp stands as Pakistan’s pioneering fully tech-enabled entity in the home services market, having fulfilled over 20,000 orders to date.
Despite the home services industry in Pakistan being a multibillion-dollar domain, it is primarily served by small-scale offline service providers.
This often results in low customer satisfaction owing to the absence of standardized services and pricing.
Helpp’s mission is to digitalize this sector, not only addressing consumer pain points but also uplifting the earnings of service providers. Its impact extends to creating economic opportunities, elevating incomes, and fostering financial inclusion for its predominantly female service providers.
Aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals 5, 8, and 10, Helpp contributes toward the 2030 targets set by these goals.
The funding secured by Helpp is slated for customer acquisition and the enhancement of its technological infrastructure.
This investment round garnered support from entities like USA-based E Planet Global, Shahyan Merchant Chairman You Ventures, Turki Al Shehri CEO Engie Saudi Arabia, J Holding Pakistan, and prominent high-net-worth individuals and business executives from the USA, UK, and Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on the investment, Mustafa Iqbal, Founder and CEO of Helpp Technologies, expressed, “Our aim is to establish an affordable brand that serves the masses while maintaining an unwavering focus on customer experience and the economic empowerment of our service partners.”
He added, “Pakistan’s home service market appears poised for a nationwide tech-driven player, much like the successes witnessed in ride-hailing, food delivery, grocery, and e-commerce sectors.”
