A large-scale outbreak of infectious diseases has severely affected the country in the wake of the devastating floods, especially in Sindh’s flood-affected areas where they have reached a dangerous level.
Over 1,500 people have died in the country’s unprecedented floods, which are believed to have cost the economy over $30 billion. However, the country has not yet begun to prepare for the flood’s aftermath because a disease epidemic represents a severe threat to its populace.

According to the health ministry, 12,000 cases of asthma, respiratory, and chest infections have been reported in Sindh over the past 24 hours.
Nearly 18,000 cases of diarrhea were reported, compared to about 20,000 patients with skin conditions.
Similarly, 64 dengue virus infections were identified, and more than 2,500 people were discovered to have malaria.
According to data from the health department, infectious infections have impacted more than 2.5 million individuals in flood-stricken areas.
