KARACHI – The Sindh High Court on Friday granted bail to Sahir Hassan, son of veteran actor Sajid Hassan, in a drug possession and trafficking case. The court directed him to submit a surety bond of Rs1 million as part of the bail conditions.
A constitutional bench of the high court approved the bail request after hearing arguments from both the defense and prosecution. Sahir Hassan had been booked under narcotics-related charges, with the case being handled by the Karachi South Police.
According to case details, an interim challan was submitted last month to the court of the Judicial Magistrate South. The challan reportedly includes a statement in which Sahir allegedly admitted to transferring funds from drug sales to a bank account managed by his father’s business manager.
The same manager was summoned by the court and given an opportunity to present a defense, including submission of relevant bank statements and supporting documents. However, to date, no such records have been provided, according to court filings.
The case remains under investigation as the court continues to assess the involvement of other individuals and financial links related to the alleged offenses.
