The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on February 5 to observe Kashmir Day, as per an official notification.
On Wednesday, February 5, all government and semi-government offices in Sindh will remain closed.
Kashmir Day is observed annually to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir in their ongoing struggle for self-determination. Pakistan continues to stand with Kashmiris in their fight for their inalienable rights, as recognized by United Nations Security Council resolutions.
On August 5, 2019, the Indian government revoked Article 370 of its constitution, removing the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. The Modi-led administration also bifurcated the region into two union territories: Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, a Buddhist-majority area in the high-altitude region.
