ISLAMABAD: The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on February 19 to mark the annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
According to a notification from the Services, General Administration, and Coordination Department, the holiday will be observed on Wednesday, February 19, in honor of the revered Sufi saint.
All government and semi-government offices, as well as educational institutions, will remain closed on the occasion.
The Urs, commemorating the saint’s death anniversary, is observed annually on the 18th of Sha’aban, the eighth month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
This sacred event draws hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from across Pakistan, as well as from India and Bangladesh, making it one of the most significant spiritual gatherings in South Asia.
