Dubai-Bound and Domestic Flights Face Widespread Cancellations
ISLAMABAD โ Flight operations at Faisalabad International Airport and New Islamabad International Airport suffered major disruptions on Wednesday as authorities cancelled multiple domestic and international departures amid the ongoing Iran-Israel war.
Several flights scheduled to depart from Faisalabad to Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi were cancelled, according to airport officials. However, flights bound for Madina and Jeddah departed as planned. Officials urged passengers to contact the airport call center before arriving to confirm their flight status.
Meanwhile, Islamabad International Airport reported cancellations for the fourth consecutive day. A British Airways flight scheduled to depart for London did not operate. Similarly, an Airblue flight to Dubai and a Gulf Air flight to Bahrain were cancelled.
International Carriers Suspend Services Amid Regional Tensions
In addition, authorities cancelled an Air Sial flight to Abu Dhabi and a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight to Dubai. A Flynas flight to Riyadh and an Etihad Airways service were also called off.
Domestic routes also faced disruptions. A PIA flight scheduled to land in Gilgit and a Fly Jinnah flight to Quetta were cancelled. Furthermore, Air Sial suspended its Riyadh-bound service, while PIA cancelled a Sharjah flight.
PIA also halted flights scheduled to depart for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, deepening travel uncertainty for passengers.
Airlines cited security concerns and airspace complications linked to escalating tensions in the Middle East. As a result, hundreds of travelers faced delays and uncertainty across Pakistanโs major airports.
Authorities advised passengers to monitor official updates and coordinate directly with airlines to avoid inconvenience as the regional conflict continues to disrupt aviation schedules.
