Seven Pakistani survivors of a recent boat tragedy off the coast of Morocco have been successfully repatriated, authorities confirmed today. The individuals were deported from Spain and Italy before returning to Pakistan.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) facilitated their return, and FIA officials have already recorded statements from the survivors. According to these accounts, the survivors reported being subjected to violence by human smugglers and provided crucial information about the smugglers involved. The FIA has expanded its investigation in response to these new details.
Further groups of survivors are expected to arrive soon, with one group scheduled to land at Islamabad airport on January 31st, and another on February 1st.
Sources reveal that the Pakistani government and relevant agencies are actively working to ensure the return of all remaining survivors.
It is worth noting that a boat carrying many Pakistani migrants capsized near Morocco, with several passengers tragically losing their lives. A total of 22 Pakistani nationals survived the incident.
