Selma Blair has no problem admitting that sheโs a fan of the Kardashian-Jenner beauty empire โ even if it surprises people.
The 53-year-old actor recently revealed that her go-to mascara comes from Kylie Cosmetics, a brand she never expected to fall in love with but now uses regularly. Blair shared her beauty must-haves while speaking to The Strategist for its popular โCanโt Live Withoutโ column, where she highlighted products that have earned a permanent place in her routine.
At the top of her list? Kylie Jennerโs Kylash Volume Mascara.
โI know you donโt hear much from 53-year-olds being like, โYeah, Iโm a Kylie Cosmetics fan,โ but I love it,โ Blair said, acknowledging the generational stereotype while happily breaking it.
Blair went on to praise more than just the mascara, noting that Kylieโs lip products also impressed her. According to the actor, the Kardashian-Jenner family understands makeup โ especially when it comes to lips.
โShe makes really good lip liners,โ Blair said. โThose Kardashians really know how to give lip.โ
Her connection to the brand is also a little more personal than most. Blair revealed that sheโs friends with Kris Jenner, which means Kylie Cosmetics products often show up at her home without her even having to shop.
โIโm friends with Mama Kris, so I get a good stream coming,โ she shared with a laugh.
Blair jokingly added that she doesnโt mind giving the brand some extra love in interviews โ even teasing that Kylie Jenner could probably use the publicity.
Kylie Cosmetics first launched in 2015, quickly becoming a beauty powerhouse thanks to the viral success of its original lip kits. Since then, the brand has expanded into mascaras, liners, foundations, and more, cementing its place in mainstream beauty culture.
In the same interview, Blair also spoke about other beauty and skincare staples she relies on, particularly products designed for sensitive skin. After struggling with severe skin sensitivity herself, the actor said she has become intentional about what she uses โ and even helped develop skincare products to address those concerns.
Ultimately, Blair emphasized that brand names matter less to her than performance.
Her beauty philosophy is simple: products should be gentle, effective, and practical, no matter who created them. And if that happens to include a mascara from Kylie Jenner? Sheโs more than happy to stand by it.
