NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Security forces killed eight terrorists during an operation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan district on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops detected the movement of a group of terrorists. All eight terrorists were killed in the clash.
The militaryโs media wing described the terrorists as members of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referring to them as โFitna al Khwarijโ and โIndian proxy.โ
โSanitisation operations are ongoing to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists in the area,โ the ISPR said.
Pakistan Blames Afghan Side
The ISPR once again criticised the Afghan Taliban regime for failing to control the border and prevent terrorists from using Afghan soil against Pakistan.
โThe Afghan Taliban Regime must fulfil its obligations and stop khwarij from using Afghan territory to carry out terrorism inside Pakistan,โ the statement demanded.
The military reaffirmed that security forces remain fully committed to defending the countryโs borders and will continue their counter-terrorism operations.
The ongoing campaign under the โAzm-e-Istehkamโ initiative, approved by the Federal Apex Committee, will proceed at full pace to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan, the ISPR added.
