Security forces in Balochistan killed at least 15 militants during two intelligence-based operations conducted in different districts of the province. The operations targeted groups accused of carrying out attacks in the region.
According to a statement issued by the militaryโs media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, the operations were carried out after receiving credible intelligence about militant activity. Security forces engaged in intense gun battles with the armed groups during the missions.
Officials said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to eliminate militant networks operating in Balochistan. Authorities also stated that the militants were linked to groups supported by India.
Twelve Militants Killed in Harnai District Operation
The first operation took place in Harnai District. Security forces launched an intelligence-based raid after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area.
During the operation, troops encountered armed fighters and a heavy exchange of gunfire followed. The firefight lasted for some time as militants attempted to resist the advancing security personnel.
According to the statement from the military, twelve militants were killed during the encounter. The individuals were identified as members of a network referred to as Fitna Al Khawarij.
Officials said the militants had been involved in multiple attacks against security forces and civilians in the province. The operation was described as a significant step in disrupting militant activity in the region.
Security teams also recovered weapons and ammunition from the site of the clash. Authorities said the seized material included firearms and other military equipment.
Three Militants Killed in Separate Basima Operation
A second intelligence-driven operation was conducted in Basima. Security personnel moved into the area after receiving reports of militants linked to another network operating there.
As troops approached the suspected hideout, militants opened fire. The forces responded immediately, leading to an intense exchange of gunfire.
During the confrontation, three militants were killed. According to the military statement, the individuals were associated with a group identified as Fitna Al Hindustan.
Authorities said the militants were involved in attacks targeting security installations and local communities. The operation successfully disrupted their activities in the area.
Security forces also recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials from the location. Officials said the seized items indicated that the militants were preparing for further attacks.
Search and Clearance Operations Continue
After the clashes, security forces launched search and clearance operations in the surrounding areas. The purpose of these operations is to ensure that no militants remain in hiding.
Troops are conducting thorough sweeps of nearby locations. Officials say the operations will continue until the entire area is declared secure.
The military emphasised that efforts to eliminate militant networks in Balochistan will continue. Authorities said security forces remain committed to protecting civilians and maintaining stability in the province.
Balochistan has experienced several security challenges in recent years. Militants have targeted infrastructure projects, security personnel, and local communities.
Analysts say intelligence-based operations are a key part of counterterrorism strategy in the region. Such missions rely on information gathered from surveillance, local sources, and intelligence agencies.
The latest operations highlight the ongoing security efforts by Pakistani forces. Officials say the goal is to dismantle militant networks and restore lasting peace in the province.
Security agencies also reiterated that action will continue against groups accused of receiving support from foreign sources.
