Security forces have killed fifteen terrorists in two intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the ISPR. The military confirmed the operations occurred between November 8 and 9 against India-backed militants. Furthermore, officials reported that the first operation targeted terrorists in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district. Security personnel launched the raid after receiving credible information about the presence of khawarij in the region. They engaged the militants during the operation and eliminated ten terrorists, including ringleader Alam Mehsud. The operation ended after forces secured the area and verified the identities of the killed militants.
Action in North Waziristan
Additionally, the ISPR stated that security forces conducted another intelligence-based raid in Datta Khel, North Waziristan. Forces successfully neutralised five terrorists during the precise operation. Officials said the targets belonged to a network linked with Indian proxy elements operating in the region. Moreover, sanitisation efforts are continuing to remove any remaining threats in both districts. Authorities confirmed that these actions form part of the ongoing counterterrorism drive under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam. The federal apex committee previously approved the plan to strengthen the National Action Plan. The military emphasised that Pakistanโs security forces will sustain their campaign until foreign-sponsored terrorism is fully eliminated.
Suicide Attack Near Bannu Police Station
Separately, a suicide bomber detonated himself near a police station in Bannu on Tuesday. Police officials said the explosion occurred near the Do Ghora Bridge beside the Basia Khel police station. The attacker arrived on a motorcycle and triggered the device before reaching the station. However, no additional casualties were reported in the incident. Law enforcement immediately reached the site and secured the area. Investigators recovered the motorcycle and the attackerโs remains from the location. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to determine possible links with recent militant activity.
Context of Recent Terror Incidents
The latest explosion follows a suicide attack at Islamabadโs Judicial Complex on November 11. That blast killed twelve people and injured at least thirty-six others. Officials later arrested four members of a TTP and Fitna al-Khawarij cell responsible for aiding the attack. Investigators believe the cell coordinated movements of the bomber and provided logistical assistance. The federal government has increased security following the arrests and has pledged further action against all militant networks.
