WhatsApp Unveils Themed Icons for Better Chat Recognition

WhatsApp is enhancing its user experience by introducing vibrant themed icons to help users easily recognize chats. As reported by WABetaInfo, these colorful icons will replace the existing neutral grey ones for contacts and group chats, making conversations more distinguishable at a glance.

The new icons will prove particularly useful in situations where contacts or group chats lack profile pictures or when privacy settings restrict visibility. These icons are designed to provide a visually appealing and practical solution for better chat identification.

Currently, this feature is accessible to select beta testers using the latest WhatsApp beta version for Android (2.24.24.12). The broader rollout is expected to take place gradually, allowing more users to enjoy this enhancement soon.

In addition to the themed icons, WhatsApp is overhauling its gallery interface. The revamped design enables users to select multiple photos or videos simultaneously for sharing, streamlining the process of sending media. Another exciting update is the introduction of an HD-quality media sharing option, offering a more refined and seamless sharing experience.

These updates reflect WhatsApp’s commitment to improving user convenience and functionality, ensuring the platform remains user-friendly and engaging.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp continues to roll out other innovative features such as Chat Lock, an email login option, and AI-powered enhancements, making the app more versatile and secure.

Stay tuned for more updates as WhatsApp continues to refine its offerings for its global user base.
