Starlink, the satellite internet venture by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, has officially launched its high-speed internet service in Bahrain, as announced via the company’s official X account (formerly Twitter).
The rollout follows the telecommunications license granted in 2022 by Bahrain’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), authorizing Starlink to offer satellite-based internet services across the Kingdom.
Welcoming the development, TRA Bahrain’s Director General Philippe Marnick stated, “This reinforces our commitment to providing advanced telecommunications solutions that support the Kingdom’s development vision and meet the aspirations of both the public and private sectors.”
Starlink’s entry into Bahrain is part of its broader global expansion. As of May 2025, the service is available in over 125 countries worldwide.
Powered by a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites, Starlink delivers high-speed, low-latency internet—particularly beneficial in remote and underserved areas. Beyond residential and commercial users, the service also supports key mobile sectors such as aviation and maritime, enabling innovation in logistics and mobility.
