Online scams: Federal Investigation Agency nabbed over 300 online fraudsters from Faisalabad

So far, over 1,100 residents of Faisalabad have fallen victim to online fraud in 2022, losing millions of rupees from their bank accounts.

ISLAMABAD: The cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency has rounded up more than 300 individuals involved in online trading scams just in one city _ Faisalabad in 2022.

The agency has registered 150 online fraud cases and nabbed more than 300 people from Faisalabad for their alleged involvement in the scams..

According to the FIA officials, the industrial city Faisalabad is being targeted by online fraudsters and the number of online scams is growing on a daily basis.

So far, over 1,100 residents of Faisalabad have fallen victim to online fraud in 2022, losing millions of rupees from their bank accounts.

The cybercrime wing officials of the agency said that the fraudsters are accessing bank account details through a masking software impersonating as bank representatives.

The scammers use different tactics to extract bank details and rob the people of money.
