Google Team Ventures into Pakistan for Collaboration in Education and Tech Sectors

Google Team

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education has announced that a high-level delegation from Google will soon visit Pakistan to explore potential collaborations in the education and technology sectors.

Scheduled immediately after Eid, the visit follows a request from the education ministry to Google to assist in establishing a digitally-enabled education system in Pakistan. Preliminary groundwork has already been conducted by advance teams from Google.

Education Secretary Mohyuddin Wani emphasized that the Google team’s agenda includes conducting a national workshop with various stakeholders.

The primary focus will be on identifying technology solutions to address challenges faced by out-of-school children in Pakistan.

Discussions will also revolve around potential collaborations in both education and technology sectors, aiming to harness Pakistan’s youth potential for advancing digital education initiatives.

“We are excited to welcome the Google team to Pakistan and explore how technology can enhance education outcomes,” Wani stated.

He highlighted the transformative potential of this collaboration, foreseeing improved accessibility and quality of education across the country.

In addition to the Google visit, the Ministry announced a new initiative where every primary school student under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will receive a tracksuit in the upcoming academic session.

This initiative aims to promote physical activity among students and foster a culture of sportsmanship from a young age.

Wani explained that providing tracksuits to all students is intended to encourage active participation in sports, which is crucial for maintaining both physical health and mental well-being.

The initiative seeks to instill a lifelong love for physical activity among children, nurturing their overall development.

“We believe in giving every child the opportunity to develop physical skills and embrace a healthy lifestyle,” Wani emphasized.

He highlighted the importance of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork, and resilience among students, essential qualities for their holistic growth.

The Ministry’s efforts underscore a commitment to advancing educational standards and promoting holistic development among Pakistan’s youth, leveraging both technology and physical activity initiatives to achieve these goals.
