According to mobile payment company Zebedee and mobile game studio Viker, two new play-to-earn games have just been released: Bitcoin Chess and Bitcoin Scratch, a virtual scratch-off game.
These games bridge the gap between Web3 and mobile gaming by allowing users to play games on their mobile devices while earning small amounts of Bitcoin, or Satoshi.
Zebedee, a Bitcoin-focused gaming infrastructure company founded in October 2019, publishes Bitcoin-specific games through its mobile app.
Bitcoin Chess and Bitcoin Scratch are the most recent games developed in collaboration with London-based Viker.
Dan Beasley, Co-Founder of Viker said:
“Implementing rewards with Zebedee’s platform isn’t about players earning money, it’s about creating a more interesting and fun experience.”
Both games are now available on iOS and Android, and users can log into their Zebedee accounts to transfer winnings from the Viker app, where gameplay takes place, to the Zebedee app.
Zebedee claims that the concept is sustainable because players can expect to earn a few cents per session despite the fact that the trading price of a single Bitcoin is in the thousands of dollars.
This isn’t the first time Zebedee and Viker have released mobile Sudoku and Solitaire games that allow users to earn Bitcoin.
In 2019, Zebedee also released an unofficial Bitcoin-integrated private server for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a first-person shooter game.
