Saudi Arabiaโs Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel al-Jubeir, is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on Friday (May 9). His visit comes at a critical time, as regional tensions between Pakistan and India continue to escalate.
Al-Jubeir is currently in India, and his upcoming stop in Islamabad is seen as part of Saudi Arabiaโs diplomatic engagement in the region.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned recent Indian drone and missile strikes on Pakistani territory. In a phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday, PM Shehbaz stated that the attacks resulted in the deaths of 31 civilians and left 57 others injured.
โIndia has violated Pakistanโs sovereignty and territorial integrity,โ the Prime Minister asserted, adding that such actions threaten peace and stability across South Asia.
During the call, both leaders agreed to maintain close communication amid the growing crisis. Secretary Rubio reaffirmed the United Statesโ commitment to promoting regional peace and urged both Pakistan and India to work toward de-escalation.
