Saudi Arabiaโs Cabinet said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoganโs recent official visit underscored the strength of relations between the two countries and reaffirmed their commitment to deeper cooperation.
The Cabinet met in Riyadh under the chairmanship of King Salman bin Abdulaziz. During the session, ministers reviewed discussions held between President Erdogan and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
In a statement, the Cabinet said the visit highlighted the solid foundation of Saudi-Turkish ties and demonstrated a shared determination to expand collaboration across multiple sectors. Officials pointed to several agreements and memorandums of understanding signed during the visit as tangible evidence of that commitment.
Moreover, the Cabinet authorized the energy minister to negotiate and sign framework and cooperation agreements with Tรผrkiye and Jordan regarding the peaceful use of nuclear energy. The move signals Riyadhโs intent to strengthen regional partnerships in the energy sector, particularly in areas related to civilian nuclear development.
President Erdogan visited the Kingdom on February 3 before traveling to Egypt as part of a broader regional tour. During his stops, Tรผrkiye signed a number of agreements with both Saudi Arabia and Egypt, with a particular focus on energy cooperation and strategic coordination.
Saudi officials described the engagements as part of ongoing efforts to reinforce diplomatic and economic partnerships. They emphasized that the agreements reflect mutual interests and a shared vision for regional stability and development.
The Cabinet reiterated its support for continued dialogue and collaboration aimed at advancing bilateral and regional initiatives.
