saudi arabia announces citizenship for highly skilled foreigners

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia today announced citizenship for foreign nationals with specialized skills in a number of professions. 

Saudi Arabia has issued a royal decree today (Nov 11), which allows certain high-skilled professionals working in specialized areas within the legal, medical, scientific, cultural, sport and technical fields to apply for Saudi citizenship.

The decree is part of the Vision 2030, which aims to create an environment that will attract highly skilled professionals from around the world to the Kingdom.

Before Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) too has announced citizenship for professionals belonging to healthcare, education, information technology and other important fields.
