Veteran actor and social activist Sania Saeed has publicly confirmed her divorce from renowned drama writer-director Shahid Shafaat. Speaking candidly for the first time about her personal life, Saeed revealed the news during a recent appearance on FWhy, a podcast hosted by former supermodel and entrepreneur Frieha Altaf.
In the heartfelt conversation, Saeed shared, “I was [married], but not anymore,” acknowledging the end of her marriage.
Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, Saeed revealed that she and Shafaat had been childhood friends who grew up performing theatre together. “He was the love of my life at that time,” she said.
She further commented on the evolving nature of love and relationships, contrasting modern experiences with the lasting bonds seen in older generations. “The kind of love we saw between our parents is rare today,” Saeed noted. “Still, it’s a beautiful thing to love someone without having to compromise your self-respect or dreams.”
