Samsung Electronics’ third batch of the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold has sold out within just two minutes, underscoring the intense demand for the company’s first tri-fold smartphone.
The latest batch was made available for purchase exclusively on Samsung.com, with prices ranging between $2,400 and $2,500, and continued the device’s rapid sell-out streak.
The third batch went on sale on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Although Samsung did not disclose the exact number of units released, the company confirmed that availability was extremely limited. Despite the high price point, consumer interest remained strong, with stock disappearing almost immediately after sales opened.
In addition to online sales, Samsung also offered the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold through offline channels in South Korea. Devices were available at 20 major Samsung stores nationwide, including the flagship Samsung Gangnam outlet, where long queues were reported as customers rushed to secure the highly sought-after phone.
The Galaxy Z Tri-Fold was first released on December 12 last month, and the entire initial production run sold out within five minutes of launch. Its innovative tri-fold design, which allows the device to unfold into a tablet-sized display, has been widely praised for pushing the boundaries of foldable smartphone technology.
A second batch released on December 17, 2025, mirrored the same trend, selling out within two minutes. Following those sales, many units quickly appeared on second-hand trading platforms, where prices were marked up significantly, ranging from 1.5 to three times the original retail value.
Industry observers say the repeated sell-outs highlight both Samsung’s cautious production strategy for the new form factor and strong early adopter enthusiasm.
Limited supply, combined with global interest in next-generation foldable devices, has fueled a resale market and reinforced the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold’s status as one of Samsung’s most exclusive and in-demand smartphones to date.
