Karachi: Samsung has confirmed that its upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup will support file sharing with Apple devices through Quick Share, marking a significant step toward cross-platform connectivity. The feature builds on interoperability first introduced by Google on the Pixel 10 series in November 2025 and later expanded to other Android devices.
Previously, Google enabled Quick Share to work alongside Apple’s AirDrop, allowing seamless file transfers between Android and Apple ecosystems. Subsequently, the feature rolled out to older Pixel models, including the Pixel 9 series, and is now set to arrive on Samsung’s latest flagship devices.
Samsung stated that the update will cover the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra through a software rollout. Moreover, users expect the company to extend support to older and more affordable Samsung devices in the future, although no official confirmation has been provided.
Meanwhile, Samsung plans to begin the rollout in South Korea before expanding to other regions, including Europe, North America, Japan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Latin America. Therefore, global users will gradually gain access to the feature in the coming months.
Once available, users can enable the option through device settings by navigating to Connected Devices and selecting Quick Share. After activation, they can send and receive files directly between Android and Apple devices without requiring third-party apps.
In addition, other manufacturers such as Oppo have confirmed similar support for upcoming devices, signaling broader adoption across the Android ecosystem.
Overall, this development highlights growing efforts to bridge compatibility gaps between major mobile platforms.
