ISLAMABAD: Acclaimed Pakistani actress Saba Qamar has revealed that severe mental stress recently caused heart pain, leading her to undergo an angiography. The Case No. 9 star shared the emotional experience during a recent podcast appearance, where she opened up about the impact of stress on physical health.
Saba said she always believed she was strong enough to face life’s challenges. However, she later realized that “pain and emotions we suppress eventually show up physically — sometimes as pain attacks, anxiety, or even heart problems.” She disclosed that she suffered a mild heart attack before undergoing an angiography the next day. “I’m feeling much better now,” she assured her fans.
Emotional Stress Can Affect Physical Health
Reflecting on her experience, the Pani Jaisa Pyaar actress said she never truly understood anxiety and panic attacks until she experienced them herself. “It’s painful and indescribable,” she admitted.
Doctors, according to the 41-year-old star, listed nearly 20 reasons why young people can develop heart issues — many unrelated to cholesterol. “When we hold on to pain and stress for too long, it starts affecting different parts of the body,” she explained.
Raising Awareness About Mental Health
Saba said she decided to share her story to remind others not to ignore even minor health symptoms. She recalled that when she once spoke about her mental struggles, people dismissed her concerns by saying she had everything — fame, money, and success.
“Mental health problems can affect anyone, regardless of success or wealth,” she stressed, urging her fans to take both their mental and physical well-being seriously.
