Russia seeks to bury past
Russia is keen to bury the past with Pakistan to start bilateral ties with a renewed dedication.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said this on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Moscow and Islamabad.
Sergei issued a video statement emphasizing Russian aspiration to expand collaboration with Pakistan.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei’s statement coincides with the arrival of oil-tanker in Karachi loaded with discounted Russian crude oil.
In April, Pakistan and Russia signed an agreement wherein Pakistan received its first shipment of Russian oil on Sunday.
It marked the beginning of a pilot project aimed at evaluating the potential benefits of Russian oil for Pakistan.
βWe are aware of the profound interest and respect the Pakistani people hold for Russia and President Vladimir Putin. We greatly appreciate it,β Russian foreign minister said in his video address.
