As per the Mirror report, Royal experts have criticized Oprah for suggesting Meghan Markle was “silenced” by the Royal Family.
On Sunday, March 7, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview with the Oprah Winfrey will be aired on CBS.
The first look at the program came in a teaser trailer broadcast on Sunday night.
In the teaser, Oprah is seen telling Meghan: โYouโve said some pretty shocking things here.โ
She later asks: โWere you silent or were you silenced?โ
Soon after the trailer was released it gained criticism from the supporters of the royal family, including Robert Jobson, a biographer of Prince Charles and the Duke of Edinburgh.
As well as knocking the tone of the trailer, he questioned the suggestion that Meghan was treated in a Mafia-like way.
Johnson told Mail Online,
“The Queen and the Royal Family are not the Corleone family of Windsor. There are no hit men or heavies going around silencing people.”
He went on to suggest that talk of her being silenced was “ridiculous”.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams questioned why the programme has been extended to two hours from the original one and a half hours as was planned.
“Was this because Harry and Meghan were angry at having their patronages removed or had it always been planned?” he questioned.
In the trailer the Duke of Sussex also describes leaving the Royal Family as “unbelievably tough”.
Oprah promises viewers there will be “shocking” revelations and “no subject off limits”.
At one point Winfrey turns to Meghan, 39, and says that her situation was โalmost unsurvivable… sounds like there was a breaking pointโ.
Harry sits with his pregnant wife in the garden of their ยฃ11million Montecito home in California.
The Duke, while holding his wifeโs hand, is heard claiming he emigrated to LA with his family because he feared โhistory repeating itselfโ after the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
Meghan, who is seen cradling her bump while wearing a ยฃ3,400 Armani dress and a bracelet belonging to Diana, only says โyeahโ in the trailer.
Meghan and Harry have individual interviews with the chat show host, who attended the coupleโs May 2018 wedding at Windsor Castle, and then a joint one.
