Low-level flooding has been reported in several rivers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as water levels continue to rise steadily, according to a recent report from the Flood Cell.
While major rivers and reservoirs in the province remain below critical danger levels, water inflows are increasing. At Tarbela Dam, inflow has surged to 287,000 cusecs, with an outflow recorded at 155,200 cusecs.
The Indus River at Khairabad is flowing at 206,800 cusecs, triggering a low-level flood situation. Similarly, the Adezai River is carrying 39,100 cusecs.
In the Kabul River, low-intensity flooding is occurring at multiple locations. The flow at Nowshera stands at 51,100 cusecs, while at Warsak it is 42,021 cusecs.
The Swat River is also experiencing rising water levels, with Chakdara reporting a flow of 10,213 cusecs and Khwazakhela measuring 8,662 cusecs.
In response, the Flood Cell has advised local administrations to remain alert and take necessary safety precautions. Residents have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel or activity near riverbanks as a safety measure.
