The Metro Bus has cut its night timing by one full hour because of the governmentโs energy saving drive. From now on, the last bus will leave at 9:00 pm sharp from both Rawalpindi and Islamabad sides. The stations will stay open a bit longer till 9:40 pm so people can get out safely, but no more buses after 9 pm.
This is part of the bigger plan to save fuel and electricity. Officials say many countries are facing fuel shortages and long queues at petrol pumps, but here in Pakistan the supply is still okay. Even so, the government wants everyone to use less energy where possible.
People who travel late in the evening should plan their trips accordingly and reach the station before 9 pm. The authorities are asking for public cooperation on this.
They say they will keep checking how many passengers are using the service and will make more changes if needed. The idea is to keep things running smoothly while saving whatever power and fuel they can.
