Kazakhstan is set to observe the holy month of Ramadan starting February 19, 2026, according to the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, reported by Qazinform News Agency.
The night of Laylat al-Qadr, considered the most sacred night of Ramadan, is expected to fall on the night of March 16 to March 17.
Eid al-Fitr, locally known as Oraza Ait, will be celebrated on March 20, marking the end of the fasting month. Later in the year, Eid al-Adha or Kurban Ait is expected to fall between May 27 and May 29.
Religious scholars emphasize that the exact dates of these events may vary by a day, depending on the sighting of the new moon. Last year, Ramadan in Kazakhstan began on March 1.
Muslims across the country are preparing for Ramadan with fasting, prayers, and spiritual activities, marking a significant period of devotion and community gatherings.
