ISLAMABAD: A new spell of rain entered Pakistan on Tuesday, bringing increased weather intensity across multiple regions, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Rain Forecast Till March 2
The PMD has predicted rainfall in various parts of the country, including:
- Islamabad
- Upper Punjab
- Pothohar region
- Central, southern, and southeastern Punjab
Meanwhile, northern and western areas are expected to witness snowfall, thunderstorms, rain, and hail, as per the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Advisory Issued for Western and Northern Regions
The National Emergency Operations Center has issued an advisory in light of the changing weather patterns. Forecasts indicate:
- Rain and thunderstorms in the western, northwestern, and northern parts of Balochistan
- Rain and snowfall in Malakand, Hazara, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir
Weather Conditions Across Different Regions
- Lahore: Overcast skies, cool winds, and drizzle reported since the morning
- Kohat: Continuous rain since last night, making the weather more pleasant
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): Rain expected to continue for another 24 hours
- Kurram (KP): Heavy rain in different areas, with snowfall in upper regions bringing colder conditions
- Karak (KP): Intermittent rain causing a drop in temperature, with concerns over potential landslides
The PMD has warned that rain in Karak could persist for another 24 hours, raising the possibility of weather-related disruptions in the region.
