Rainfall is anticipated to bring relief to multiple regions of Pakistan next week, marking the end of the prevailing dry spell.
Speaking to a private news channel, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz revealed that the rainfall is expected to commence around January 20, as wind systems move into Balochistan from Iran. Following this, northern areas will likely experience rain and snowfall.
However, Sarfraz clarified that Karachi is unlikely to witness any rain during this weather pattern.
Currently, Karachi is enduring a cold wave, with the temperature dropping to 12°C, according to the Meteorological Department. Strong winds are predicted for today, while the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy over the next 24 hours.
The minimum temperature in Karachi has dropped to 11°C, with a maximum forecast of 25°C. Humidity stands at 71%, and wind speeds are recorded at 10 km/h.
In a related development, Karachi has ranked as the sixth most polluted city worldwide, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 184, signifying hazardous pollution levels. The authorities advise residents, especially those with respiratory ailments, to adopt precautionary measures to protect their health.
