Rain and Snowfall
With the arrival of Ramadan, a significant change in weather patterns is expected across various regions of Pakistan.
The Meteorological Department has forecasted rainfall and snowfall in the federal capital, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Balochistan, while most districts of Sindh are likely to remain dry during this period.
Weather Forecast for Punjab and Islamabad
The Meteorological Department predicts that Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, and their surrounding areas will experience rain accompanied by strong winds, particularly at night.
Various districts across Punjab are also expected to receive rain, including Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Hafizabad, and Gujranwala. Further south, areas such as Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, and Sahiwal are also likely to experience wet conditions.
Additionally, cities like Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, and Bhakkar, as well as southern Punjab districts including Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Kot Addu, are anticipated to witness rainfall.
Weather Conditions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, several northern areas are likely to see both rainfall and snowfall. These include Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Kohistan, Mansehra, Battagram, Abbottabad, Haripur, and Buner.
Other parts of the province, including Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Peshawar, and Charsadda, are also expected to receive rain, potentially accompanied by thunderstorms.
Expected Weather in Balochistan
Balochistan is also set to experience wet and cold conditions, with rain and snowfall expected in multiple districts. The affected areas will include Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Mastung, Pishin, and Qila Abdullah. Other districts may also see similar weather conditions as the wet spell continues.
Weather Outlook for Sindh
Unlike the northern and western regions of the country, most parts of Sindh are forecasted to remain dry throughout the early days of Ramadan.
No significant rainfall is expected in major cities such as Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana. However, temperatures may vary slightly due to changing wind patterns.
As Ramadan begins, the anticipated rainfall and snowfall may bring relief from dry weather in many regions while posing potential challenges such as travel disruptions and colder conditions in hilly areas. The authorities advise residents, particularly in the affected areas, to stay updated on weather reports and take necessary precautions.
