Rachel Lindsay is embracing a new sense of freedom after officially closing the chapter on her divorce.
The former Bachelorette, 40, finalized her divorce from Bryan Abasolo, 45, last January, but itโs only now that Lindsay says she truly feels liberated.
The couple met on The Bachelorette in 2017 and married in 2019. Abasolo filed for divorce in January 2024, which Lindsay described as a shocking moment in her life.
As part of their 2025 divorce settlement, Lindsay was ordered to pay Abasolo $500,000. After accounting for prior spousal support payments, her final obligation amounted to $460,229, which she officially completed on Jan. 7, 2026.
โEverything is for me now, at this point,โ Lindsay told PEOPLE on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Ray-Banโs Pre-Grammy celebration. โWe are free. We are happy. Can you see the glow?โ She compared the feeling to โgiving birth to a baby or letting goโ โ a powerful metaphor for the relief she now feels.
Looking ahead, Lindsay is embracing the opportunities that come with this new chapter. She revealed that she is currently working on a book that may chronicle her relationship and divorce, as she steps into a fresh phase of life.
In September 2025, Lindsay reflected on her evolving perspective. โIโm stepping into 40. Iโm proud about it. I love it. Iโm single. Iโm not married, and my life looks different now than it did a few years ago,โ she shared with PEOPLE.
As she celebrates financial closure and personal growth, Lindsay is clearly focused on building a life fully on her own terms.
