Rabi Pirzada, the Pakistani former pop star turned entrepreneur and religious content creator, has spoken publicly for the first time about her previously undisclosed marriage and divorce.
The 35-year-old made the revelations during a recent appearance on Excuse Me with Ahmed Ali Butt, ending years of speculation about her personal life.
During the interview, Pirzada confirmed that she had been married but chose to keep the relationship entirely private. She disclosed that she later sought khula, an Islamic form of divorce initiated by a woman, and emphasized that this was the first time she had addressed the matter publicly.
According to Pirzada, the decision to remain silent was deliberate, as she did not want her personal struggles to become public discourse.
โI was married, but I got khula. People donโt know about my marriage because I am sharing it for the very first time. I havenโt spoken publicly about my divorce before,โ she said.
Pirzada added that she holds no resentment and does not wish to speak negatively about her former husband, noting that ending the marriage brought relief to both parties. She also shared that she remains open to the possibility of remarrying in the future.
Reflecting on the circumstances of the marriage, Pirzada revealed that it took place under family pressure. She explained that it was a watta sattaโan exchange marriageโa practice she now regrets, saying it added emotional and practical complications to the relationship. โI regret marrying under the pressure of my parents,โ she admitted candidly.
Rabi Pirzada rose to fame in the mid-2000s with her hit debut song Dadi Kuri, quickly becoming a recognizable name in Pakistanโs pop music scene. However, in late 2019, she withdrew from the entertainment industry following intense media scrutiny after private images of her were leaked online.
Since then, she has focused on business ventures and Islamic teachings, maintaining a presence on social media while keeping her personal life largely private.
