Foreign Ministry denounces attack on Hamas residences, warns of grave regional implications and ongoing investigations.
The Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned an Israeli airstrike on residential buildings in Doha, calling the attack a “cowardly act” and a serious violation of international law and norms. The strike reportedly targeted members of Hamas’s political bureau, based in the Qatari capital.
In an official statement issued Tuesday, the ministry said the attack constitutes a “criminal offense” and represents a direct threat to Qatar’s national sovereignty, the safety of its citizens, and the well-being of foreign residents living in the country.
“The State of Qatar condemns in the strongest possible terms the cowardly Israeli assault on residential areas in Doha,” the statement read.
“Any attempt to undermine Qatar’s sovereignty or national security is completely unacceptable.”
Doha Affirms Zero Tolerance for Aggression
Qatar’s foreign ministry described the strike as reckless and provocative, asserting that it jeopardizes regional stability and could trigger wider geopolitical consequences. Officials warned that Israel’s actions threaten to destabilize an already fragile Middle East landscape and vowed not to tolerate such “irresponsible conduct.”
The statement emphasized that Qatar remains committed to upholding international law and the principles of diplomacy, even as it continues to face external pressure over its role in mediating between Palestinian factions and the wider international community.
Investigations Underway
Qatari authorities have launched high-level investigations into the circumstances surrounding the strike. Though details remain limited, the Ministry assured the public and the international community that Qatar will take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and the safety of its population.
The incident has sparked strong reactions across the region, with several nations calling for restraint and urging a thorough international inquiry into Israel’s expanding military campaign.
