The Punjab school meal program is set to grow, as the government has greenlit its expansion to ten additional districts, providing nutritious meals to young students in primary grades. This initiative aims to enhance both the health and learning capabilities of children across the province.
The newly included districts are Bhakkar, Mianwali, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, and Muzaffargarh. Previously, the program was successfully operating in Chiniot, Rahim Yar Khan, Lodhran, and Vehari, offering free meals to children from grades one to five. Education officials emphasized that this program is a significant step toward improving student well-being and academic performance.
In a related move to strengthen educational access, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the establishment of Danish Schools in Sarai Alamgir and Phool Nagar.
This initiative complements the Punjab school meal program by ensuring that more students have access to quality education and a healthier learning environment.
With this expansion, the government continues to prioritize student welfare, aiming to make nutritious meals and quality education accessible to every corner of Punjab.
