Citizens Can File FIRs Without Visiting Police Stations
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Punjab Police Pakistan App on Thursday, offering citizens an easy way to report lost documents online. The app allows residents to file complaints for lost identity cards, passports, and driving licences from their homes.
Once a report is submitted, a copy of the First Information Report (FIR) is delivered directly to the userโs home. This eliminates the need to visit police stations or service centres, saving both time and money.
Chief Minister Sharif emphasized that the initiative is part of her governmentโs commitment to technological advancement. โProviding convenience to the public through innovation is our commitment,โ she said, adding that modern solutions are essential to make public services more accessible.
The app is expected to reduce stress for citizens, streamline police procedures, and enhance overall efficiency in handling lost document reports.
Farmer-Friendly Initiatives Complement Digital Services
Alongside the app launch, the Punjab government introduced Kisan Card Loan Phase-III in Chiniot district, aimed at facilitating landowners and cultivators. The program, launched under the guidance of the Secretary of Agriculture, is part of the governmentโs farmer-friendly vision to improve financial access and boost agricultural productivity.
Teams from the Agriculture Extension Department have been mobilized to raise awareness at the village level and make announcements in mosques. Officials are also engaging directly with landowners and stakeholders to explain the benefits and registration process for the loan scheme.
Dedicated facilitation desks have been established at both tehsil and district levels to ensure that farmers can complete the registration process efficiently, without unnecessary delays. These measures aim to expand outreach and ensure that more farmers can take advantage of the scheme.
Enhancing Public Convenience and Agricultural Growth
The Punjab Police app and Kisan Card Loan Phase-III reflect the governmentโs broader strategy to modernize public services and support citizens in daily tasks. While the app focuses on digital convenience and reducing bureaucratic hurdles, the farmer-focused initiative aims to strengthen sustainable agricultural development and ease financial burdens on cultivators.
Officials expressed optimism that these initiatives will benefit a larger segment of the population, combining technology and community engagement to improve public service delivery. Citizens can now file FIRs from home and farmers can access financial support more easily, demonstrating the governmentโs commitment to both innovation and grassroots development.
