LAHORE, Feb. 17 — Punjab government officials remained silent Tuesday over reports claiming the provincial administration acquired a luxury Gulfstream aircraft for VIP transport, while criticism continued mounting across political and social circles. Earlier, an online defense and security account reported that Punjab authorities obtained a 2019-manufactured Gulfstream G500 jet, adding that the aircraft would soon receive Pakistani registration after operating under a United States registry. Moreover, the report estimated the jet’s price between $38 million and $42 million, consequently prompting public debate regarding government spending priorities during economic hardship.
Meanwhile, aviation tracking data indicated the aircraft recently operated between several airports within Punjab, fueling speculation about its intended use.
